The Cholistani is a multi-purpose breed, being used for both meat, milk and as a draft
animal. They are Zebu or Bos indicus cattle and are found in the Cholistan desert
in Bahawalpur, Pakistan. Cholistani are usually speckled red, brown or black. They
are of recent origin and are thought to have been derived from the crossing of Sahiwal
with the local cattle.
