This breed is found in the northwestern portion of Ukraine and is kept primarily for
milk production. The Ukrainian Whitehead originated in the end of the 18th century
and the beginning of the 19th century from Dutch cattle, primarily Groningen Whitehead,
brought by Mennonite settlers crossed with the Ukrainian Grey and the Polesian.
