The Abyssinian is found in Ethiopia and is a pony/light horse breed. It stands around
13.5 hands tall. There is a great deal of variability in it coloration, size and conformation
due to the dilution of the breed. It was brought to Great Britain in 1861 and from
there is quickly made its way to the United States. Because of its origin, the Abyssinian
horse works very well under hot weather conditions. It is used for many different
activities such as farming, hauling and riding.
