The Herdwick is found in the Lake District of northwestern England, on the fells of
Westmorland and Cumberland. They are a carpet wool and meat breed. The lambs are born
with black faces, legs and blue-roan fleeces which lighten in the adults. The males
are horned and the females are polled or naturally hornless.
