The Rouge de l'Ouest is of the same origin as the Bleu du Maine but with a distinctive pink face and legs. It is polled and used primarily for market
lamb production.
The breed average fleece weight is 1.5-2 kilograms with a staple length of 4-5 cm
and a spinning count of 58-60's.
