The Massese is a carpet wool breed Two black Massese sheep in a pen.kept for both milk and meat production. Belonging to the Apennine group it is similar to the Garfagnina but smaller and gray or brown with a dark head. Both sexes are horned and show a distinctive roman-nose. The herdbook was established in 1971.
