A Touabire sheep, one with long wool and one shorn.Also Known As: Ladoum, Tuabir, White Arab, White Maure

 

The Touabire are one of the large breeds of hair sheep found on the African continent. The are found primarily in southern Mauritania, northern Senegal and northern Mali. Used for both dairy and meat production, the Touabire are of the Sahel-type. The breed is usually white with lop ears but pied individuals are also seen. The males are horned and the females polled.
